Lil' Bastad: A band with "Sumpthin Ta Say"
What do Little Milton Campbell, Lowell Fulson, Howlin’ Wolf, Eric Clapton and Miles Davis all have in common? The respect and admiration of a band called Lil’ Bastad, whose new CD, Sumpthin Ta Say, really shows how these artists have influenced and inspired them.

In addition Lil’ Bastad’s new CD, Sumpthin Ta Say, contains 6 BRAND NEW SONGS written by Mark Bowers. If you know Mark Bowers as the guitarist's guitarist, then be prepared to be just as blown away by Mark Bowers the songwriter. Thinking on many levels, Mark Bowers writing expresses life’s complexities in a language that everyone can easily understand: The Blues; while Lil’ Bastad's interpretation and innate execution of these songs shows that there is nothing Lil’ Bastad cannot handle.

ABOUT THE BAND

Lil' Bastad - The tongue in cheek name is synonymous with the winning humor and unique style that instantly connects their music with their audiences. This five piece blues based band formed in 1999 through their musicianship and great love for the Blues, R&B and Funk. Lil' Bastad combines formal "old school" style and their own contemporary feel to form a winning musical balance.

Since Lil' Bastad's beginnings ("Hoot'n & Holler'n") they've held true to their funky rhythm & blues roots. Based in Northern NJ and fronted by guitarists, Mark Bowers (The Manhattans, JT Taylor of Kool & The Gang) and Luke Michura (Tangle Foot, Kennedy Grey Project), the fellows are currently joined by John Pahmer (Jordan Sparks, Sandra Bernhard, Celebrity Apprentice) on keys, Ruben Austin (Sweet Georgia Brown-Montreux Jazz Festival 2009) on bass and drummer extra-ordinaire: Abe Fogle (Rob Thomas, Celebrity Apprentice), creating unique syncopated blues compositions that orchestrate a fresh and innovative perspective of listening to Blues, Funk, and R & B.

If you're ever in the mood for an amazing live show, see Lil' Bastad, and experience the rapport the band has with its audience; that's what makes you come back for more ... from Freddy & B.B. King to Jimi Hendrix ... to Robert Cray, Stevie Ray, and George Benson ... their musical influences are "uniquely styled" and this band has "Sumpthin' to Say" !!!
