Lil’ Bastad plays blues, R&B & funk next Thursday in Nishuane Park
Thursday, September 08, 2005

Lil’ Bastad, a popular blues-based band, whose tongue-in-cheek name is synonymous with the winning humor and style that connects their music with their audience, will conclude the township’s Moonlight Night Summer Concert Series with a performance on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in Nishuane Park. The public is invited to attend. Admission is free.

This five-piece blues-based band formed in 1999 through their musicianship and great love for the blues, R&B, and funk. Lil’ Bastad combines formal “old-school” style and their own contemporary feel to form a winning musical balance.

The dynamics of the band is a result of its members’ personalities. On lead guitar and vocals is Mark Bowers (The Manhattans, Mary J. Blige, Otis Rush, Lowell Fulsom, Kool & The Gang and Wilson Pickett); on drums, Dave Moore (Dave Fields, Nikki Armstrong and Kings in Disguise); on bass, Ronald “Boz” Bostick (Blue Magic, Funkadelic, Della Reese and Super Blue); on keyboards, John Pahmer (Doyle Bramhall, and Terence Trent-D’Arby); and on guitar and vocals, Luke Michura (Tanglefoot and Bourbon Street).
